Aviation company LCI has signed the Aircraft Leasing Ireland’s Sustainability Charter, which is a pledge to drive environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals and meet net-zero objectives. LCI is a subsidiary of the Libra Group, an international conglomerate.
Signatories will work on low-carbon technologies such as sustainable aviation fuels and hydrogen, reuse and recycling, greater community engagement, as well as corporate ESG accountability and reporting.
“LCI is uniquely positioned across the commercial fixed-wing, helicopter and advanced air mobility sectors and comprehends the need to take action now in order to prepare for the future. The journey to net-zero has to be taken together, so we welcome the opportunity to shape it now,” said Jaspal Jandu, Chief Executive Officer, LCI.
The helicopter and commercial aircraft company headquartered in Dublin currently operates a fleet of over 140 helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, with an additional 125 on order. It is also a member of the Airbus Helicopters Sustainable Aviation Fuel forum.
In April this year, LCI ordered up to 125 eVTOLs from BETA Technologies to enhance its sustainability mission.
