Dassault’s latest aircraft, and its largest in terms of cabin cross-section, entered service on November 30th, 2023. The aircraft was certified by the FAA and EASA in August and subsequently completed upgrades requiring EASA certification.
“Dassault Aviation shares this remarkable occasion with our customers who are sure to receive an exceptional aircraft,” said Dassault Aviation Chairman and CEO Éric Trappier. The 6X is an all-new design with the latest generation of Dassault’s digital flight control system. According to company pilots, it is the best-handling Falcon in a long line of aircraft known for pilot-friendly qualities.
First announced during a special ceremony in Paris in February 2018, the Falcon 6X is a twin-engine business jet that is capable of carrying a maximum of 16 passengers. With a full load of fuel it can fly as far as 5,500 nmi (10,200 km) at Mach 0.80 and 5,100 nm at Mach 0.85. Top speed is Mach 0.90. The 6X can fly non-stop between city pairs such as Beijing to San Francisco, Los Angeles to Geneva, and Sao Paulo to London.
Inside, passengers flying on the Falcon 6X will enjoy the widest and tallest cabin of any purpose-built business jet, with Dassault’s design engineers completely reimagining the cabin interior and introducing a fresh design that features flowing uninterrupted lines that enhance the feeling of spaciousness. Thirty extra-large windows in the 6X offer nearly 5,000 square inches — some 3.5 square meters — of viewing/window space, the largest in the aircraft’s class. A unique skylight in the entryway adds natural light to a part of the cabin that is usually difficult to illuminate well.
The cabin itself can be split into three distinct zones, not including an extended entryway and galley. The rear cabin, when configured as a stateroom, can be closed off completely during flight affording passengers completely privacy to sleep during long flights.
A new option for the Falcon 6X is the Falcon Privacy Suite, a mini-stateroom for one with an electrically operated seat that can convert to a lie-flat bed. First introduced in 2022, Dassault’s Falcon Privacy Suite resembles a first-class suite on a commercial airliner, and has been designed to offer more personal space, greater peace and quiet, and a more comfortable and restful sleep on long flights. As well as the new Falcon 6X, the Falcon Privacy Suite is also available on Falcon’s flagship Falcon 8X.
“The Privacy Suite is a brand-new high-end option that will be available only on Falcon business jets,” said Dassault Aviation Executive Vice President, Civil Aircraft Carlos Brana. “It responds to customer demand for a personal space to work, relax and get a proper rest during long-duration trips.”
Dassault’s Falcon 6X factory demonstrator recently embarked on a worldwide tour to give owners and prospective customers a chance to experience the company’s all-new airplane first hand.
