Asian Sky Group continued to observe the rapid recovery of the aviation industry in Asia-Pacific, swiftly reaching pre-Covid levels. In fact, the total number of business jet flights departing from Asia-Pacific increased by 42.9% compared to Q3 2019. Similarly, there was a 22% increase in flights departing from the region compared to 2022, with a notable 15.9% surge in the third quarter over the same period in 2022. The average number of business jet flights has risen from 5,955 in 2022 to 7,264 in 2023, with January in particular accounting for the most significant growth of 51.3% compared to the same period last year. Australia and India led the number of business jet flights in Asia-Pacific with shares of 23.3% and 19.8%, respectively. Mainland China accounted for 8.1% of the total. With the continued resumption of trade and business activities, our expectations remain positive for the overall growth in Asia-Pacific.

During Q3 2023, the Asia-Pacific business aviation market has again improved compared to Q2. Driven by the resumption of international business activities, the number of international business jet flights grew by 4% year-on-year. Flights with durations between 30 minutes and three hours accounted for over 72% of the total in Q3. Noteworthy routes within this range included Singapore to Kuala Lumpur (for flights between 30 minutes and one hour); Singapore to Jakarta (one to two hours); and Singapore to Bangkok (two to three hours). There was also a notable increase in the number of longhaul business jet flights from Asia Pacific, mainly driven by a rise in demand from North America-based users. Flights lasting over five hours increased by 25% compared to Q3 2022 and by 31% compared to Q3 2019.
