Asia-Pacific’s Business Aviation Momentum Sets the Stage for BAAFEx 2027

As business aviation enters a new phase of growth across Asia-Pacific, the return of the Business Aviation Asia Forum & Expo (BAAFEx) in March 2027 reflects both the region’s rising influence and the industry’s increasing need for a dedicated platform focused on Asia.

Following a successful inaugural edition last year, BAAFEx will return to Singapore from 22 to 24 March 2027 with expanded participation across its exhibition, conference and aircraft display segments. The organiser expects more than 3,000 industry professionals and trade visitors, alongside over 75 participating companies representing the global business aviation ecosystem.

The growth of BAAFEx mirrors the momentum now building across Asia-Pacific’s business aviation market, a market that remains relatively underpenetrated compared to North America and Europe, yet is increasingly recognised as one of the industry’s most important long term growth regions.

The Asia-Pacific business aviation market continues to expand steadily, with recent industry data indicating further fleet growth led by markets such as India and Vietnam. India has been a key driver of new aircraft additions in the region, while Vietnam has emerged as one of the fastest growing markets in Southeast Asia. Southeast Asia now represents the second largest business aviation market in the region behind Greater China.

Despite this progress, Asia-Pacific still accounts for only around 7 percent of the global business jet fleet. By comparison, North America represents more than 70 percent of the market, highlighting the significant growth potential that remains across Asia.

Several structural factors continue to support this upward trajectory. Asia’s economies are expected to outperform many Western markets in the coming years, creating favourable conditions for corporate travel and private aviation demand. At the same time, the region is seeing rapid growth in wealth creation, particularly among entrepreneurs, family offices and internationally mobile business leaders.

Knight Frank’s 2025 Wealth Report forecasts that Asia-Pacific will account for nearly half of all new high net worth individuals globally between 2024 and 2028. Singapore alone is home to almost 10,000 individuals with assets exceeding US$10 million, reinforcing its position as a leading business and financial hub. This expanding base of affluent individuals and cross-border businesses is driving a new generation of first-time business aviation users across the region. Demand is also evolving beyond short regional flights, with growing interest in ultra long range and large cabin aircraft capable of connecting Asia directly with Europe and North America.

Against this backdrop, Singapore continues to strengthen its role as a strategic centre for aerospace and business aviation in Asia-Pacific.

The city state is home to more than 130 aerospace companies spanning maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO), avionics, aircraft management and charter services. According to the Singapore Economic Development Board, Singapore’s aerospace output exceeded S$18 billion in 2024, with the country accounting for approximately 10 percent of global MRO output and close to 20 percent of global engine MRO output. This concentration of expertise, infrastructure and connectivity makes Singapore a natural convening point for the industry and provides a strong foundation for events such as BAAFEx.

The inaugural edition of BAAFEx, held in March 2025, attracted more than 2,000 visitors and over 50 participating companies from across the business aviation value chain, including manufacturers, operators, MRO providers and service companies. The conference programme featured discussions on sustainability, regulatory harmonisation, airport infrastructure and developments across emerging Asian markets.

For organiser Experia Events, the strong industry response confirmed the need for a dedicated business aviation platform focused on Asia-Pacific’s unique market dynamics.

Leck Chet Lam, Managing Director of Experia Events, says:

“BAAFEx was launched to fill a clear gap in AsiaPacific’s business aviation landscape, and the response to the first edition in 2025 exceeded expectations. With the region entering a new phase of growth, the 2027 edition will be larger in scale, reflecting the momentum of the market and the increasing importance of bringing the industry together.”

The 2027 edition will build on this momentum with an expanded exhibition footprint, broader international participation and a curated conference programme addressing key issues shaping the future of business aviation in Asia, including sustainability, infrastructure and regulatory developments

As Asia-Pacific’s business aviation ecosystem continues to mature, the industry is increasingly looking for platforms that can facilitate partnerships, knowledge exchange and market development across the region.

BAAFEx arrives at a timely moment. Rising wealth, stronger economic growth and increasing international business activity are creating favourable conditions for sustained expansion, while the industry simultaneously navigates evolving challenges around infrastructure capacity, sustainability goals and regulatory alignment.

In this context, BAAFEx is positioning itself not only as an exhibition, but also as a strategic platform supporting the long-term development of business aviation across Asia-Pacific.

With the sector entering what many believe will be its next major growth chapter, the return of BAAFEx in 2027 reflects growing confidence in Asia’s role for the future global business aviation landscape.
