Swiss airline and flight school Air Zermatt has signed a purchase agreement with Bell Textron for a Bell 429. It is the third Bell helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS)-configured aircraft to operate in Air Zermatt’s fleet, and brings its fleet of rescue helicopters to 11.
“Bell has always supported our operations with excellent aircraft and support. The Bell 429 is in a class of its own, and continues to offer reliable, superior performance for our search and rescue missions,” said Gerold Biner, Chief Executive Officer, Air Zermatt. “We look forward to adding another HEMS-configured Bell 429 to our fleet and increasing our search and rescue support to the community in the Swiss Valais.”
The seven-seat Bell 429 is the most widely used Bell model in Europe in the HEMS, corporate and law enforcement segments. There are more than 400 Bell 429s operating worldwide.
