Textron Aviation has delivered a Cessna Grand Caravan EX to Azul Conecta, a subsidiary of Azul Airlines, marking the 3,000th delivery of the Caravan family turboprop globally. The aircraft will be based at Jundiai Airport, Sao Paulo.
Textron Aviation employees and representatives from Azul Conecta celebrated the delivery milestone with a ceremony at Textron Aviation’s facility in Independence, Kansas.
“This Grand Caravan EX will proudly fly the Brazilian skies and connect our 158 destinations, many of which are made possible by the aircraft’s utility and flexibility,” said Flavio Costa, Chief Technical Officer of Azul and President, Azul Conecta.
Textron Aviation currently offers four Caravan models: the Caravan 208, the Grand Caravan EX 208B, the Caravan Amphibian and the Caravan EX Amphibian.
Cessna launched the Caravan program in 1981 and made their 1,000th delivery in 1998.
