Avfuel Corporation has partnered with Sheltair Aviation and Neste in providing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for the 2022 NBAA-BACE show.
At business aviation’s largest convention of the year, Avfuel delivered 16,000 gallons of Neste MY SAF to its branded fixed-base operator, Sheltair, at Orlando Executive Airport.
The two truckloads of deliveries are blended with 30% of SAF and 70% of petroleum-based jet fuel, which is one of the highest average ratios available in the sector, and enough to reduce carbon emissions by 38 metric tons across its lifecycle, which is the amount of carbon generated by charging more than 4.5 million smartphones.
“SAF is the best way to reduce carbon emissions; by partnering with Avfuel to provide this product to our customer base, we’re fueling the spirit of BACE with a concentration on and commitment to sustainable operations,” Eddie Dussault, General Manager, Sheltair Orlando.
Avfuel also coordinated with Sheltair and Embraer to provide one extra load of SAF to the OEM via Sheltair’s Melbourne FBO and one additional load to Textron Aviation.
Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel, which is made from sustainably sourced, renewable waste and residue raw materials, can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% compared to fossil jet fuel.
