TMAP Joins Joby and SK Telecom Partnership

TMAP, a subsidiary of SK Square, will join Joby Aviation’s partnership with SK Telecom.

The group aims to bring air taxi services to South Korea.

TMAP’s data will give the group information on the best possible flight routes, infrastructure networks, and other mobility services that Korean customers prefer.

“TMAP’s deep knowledge and understanding of mobility needs across Korea, along with millions of daily users across Korea, makes them a great partner and platform through which to bring our aerial ridesharing service to customers,” states Justin Lang, Head of Partnerships and Corporate Strategy at Joby.

TMAP also jointly owns ride-hailing app UT with Uber. Through this, the companies hope that both ground and air transportation can be integrated.

The announcement highlights how Joby plans to launch its services to international markets, by partnering with local businesses.

All Nippon Airways (ANA) also partnered with Joby to bring urban air mobility (UAM) to Japan.
