Business aviation solutions provider Satcom Direct has installed a 1,200-panel solar farm in the US state of Florida as part of its aim to reduce its carbon footprint.
The 65,000-square-foot facility is located in Melbourne near the company’s SD Data Center and is bigger than an American football field. It can generate 97,750kWh of energy per month, which will be consumed by Satcom Direct.
“Renewable energy benefits everyone, and the solar farm will play a significant part in powering our business more efficiently. We recognize the need to reduce our carbon footprint and be more environmentally friendly,” said Jim Jensen, Founder and CEO, Satcom Direct.
Jensen said the solar farm is only one of the company’s green initiatives to reduce carbon emissions.
