Pilatus adds US Paint Facility

Pilatus adds US Paint Facility

Responding to what the company says is a growing demand for its PC-12 NGX turboprop and PC-24 business jets, Pilatus is opening a new paint facility in the US.

The new paint shop adds to the company’s existing completions center in Broomfield, Colorado.

The new USD$15 million custom-designed facility includes a 28,445 square foot (2,643 square metre) hall with three separate paint booths. Although the booths will primarily be dedicated to prep and paint the PC-24 and PC-12 NGX, the facility also has the scope to complete detailing, touch-ups, and silk screen printing of placards.

“We are proud to continue expanding our footprint and enhancing our workforce here in Colorado to meet the increased demand of the North and South American markets.” said Thomas Bosshard, President and CEO of Pilatus US subsidiary.

Once the facility is fully up and running Pilatus expects to be able to complete up to 100 aircraft per year, the first of which, the company says, is due for delivery before the end of July.

“Efficiency, innovation and environmental impact were the guiding principles during the design phase”, said Bosshard. “This investment allows Pilatus Business Aircraft Ltd to manage and maintain the high-quality standards and procedures set by our Swiss parent company.”
