Metrojet Completes First Gulfstream G650 8C Inspection

Metrojet’s Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) station has completed its first 8C inspection on a Gulfstream G650 aircraft, the first check of its kind performed in Hong Kong.

An 8C inspection is known as a “heavy” maintenance check, which involves a significant scope of work including structural inspections. In some instances, an 8C inspection requires the dismantlement and removal of parts of the interior in order to access the necessary sections of the airframe for examination. The Hong Kong-based MRO station completed more than 100 different maintenance tasks throughout the aircraft during the 8C inspection.

Metrojet is able to perform base and line maintenance for aircraft registered in Hong Kong SAR, the U.S., Aruba, Bermuda, Canada, the Cayman Islands, Isle of Man, Qatar, San Marino and China.

“This check is a milestone event for the Metrojet HK MRO. Our engineering team always strives to enhance their capabilities, provides a quality product and aims to deliver extensive and on-schedule inspection services to our customers at a competitive price. Building upon our successful first G650 8C inspection, we are delighted to have received a second 8C inspection event from a third-party operator,” said Dave Yip, Managing Director, Metrojet.

Metrojet, the charter, aircraft management and maintenance company, has continued to expand its presence in Asia by opening its second MRO facility in Clark, the Philippines, in December 2021.

In July 2022, MetroJet and Exeujet Haite jointly acquired Funian Aviation, in an effort to strengthen both parties’ aircraft management, flight operations and MRO services.
