EHang Outlines UAM Plans in Latin America

EHang, the Chinese eVTOL manufacturer, has unveiled plans to develop Urban Air Mobility (UAM) in Latin America with the help of its Mexico-based distributor Air Mobility.

The announcement came as EHang showcased its EH216 eVTOL at the Mexico Aerospace Fair (FAMEX) held from April 26 to 29.

The aim of the partnership is to establish a fully-functioning UAM ecosystem in the region and provide sustainable transportation that can be utilized by everyone.

“Together with our partner Air Mobility, EHang aims to develop UAM in the region, for making safe, sustainable and efficient air transportation available for everybody,” EHang said on Twitter.

This is the latest in a series of major accomplishments for the Guangzhou-based firm as it recently confirmed it is set to hold demonstrations for its EH216-S electric aircraft in Israel in June. Expanding its footprint around the world, EHang also signed an agreement with United Arab Emirates-based Monarch Airplane Manufacturing to create the first electric aircraft manufacturing facility in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

The EH216 eVTOL manufactured by EHang can carry two passengers and travel a total distance of 30 km at a maximum speed of 130 kph.
