Volocopter and Jetex have signed a strategic partnership agreement.
The agreement aims to establish a safe and sustainable model for urban air mobility (UAM).
The two companies made a joint announcement at the 2022 European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland.
The collaboration is a result of technological advancements as well as an increasing need for more rapid and sustainable travel.
“Signing this MOU with Jetex is an important first step towards a strategic collaboration to deploy sustainable and integrated UAM operations as well as passenger services,” states Christian Bauer, Chief Commercial Officer at Volocopter.
Volocopter and Jetex will research popular air taxi routes in Miami, Singapore and Paris. This will make sure that existing airport infrastructure can be seamlessly integrated with UAM.
Both companies aim to launch UAM operations by 2024.
