Textron Changes its Mind & Exhibits at NBAA-BACE

Textron Aviation has had an apparent change of heart and has reversed its previous decision not to exhibit at the upcoming NBAA-BACE (National Business Aviation Administration Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition) in Las Vegas.

Textron’s surprise decision to exhibit at NBAA-BACE comes just a week after its previous surprise decision to pull out of the event just a month before it opened.

In a statement, the Wichita-based manufacturer stated that it had reversed its decision based on feedback that it had received from its customers.

“In response to customer feedback, Textron Aviation will return to the 2024 National Business Aviation Association Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) with a static display of industry-leading Citation aircraft,” said the company in an October 2nd Press Release.

Textron had been the third major business jet manufacturer to decide not to display at the show, following decisions from Dassault Aviation and Gulfstream Aerospace earlier in the year.

Textron says that it will display four new business jets, as well as mockups of two of its upcoming aircraft.

The largest Textron aircraft, the Cessna Citation Longitude will take centerstage alongside the best-selling mid-size Citation Latitude. The OEM will also display a Citation CJ4 Gen2, as well as a Citation M2 Gen2.

Textron will also bring along mockups of its upcoming Citation Ascend and CJ3 Gen2.

Textron announced the Citation Ascend during the 2023 edition of the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland.

Based on the wildly popular Citation 560XL family of business jets, the Citation Ascend features an all-new cockpit, improved performance, and Garmin G5000 avionics. Other features include a “game changer” flat floor and a new window design that is 12% larger than the original Citation 560XL.
