The Registry of Aruba has validated Gulfstream’s new G700 business jet, meaning that aircraft owners can now choose to register their aircraft on the P4- register.
Validation of by the Registry of Aruba comes several months after the registry’s sister register in San Marino also validated the G700s type certificate.
Gulfstream launched its new $79 million G700 during a special event at the airframer’s Savannah homebase in October 2019.
Designed as an extension to the wildly popular G650/ER family of aircraft, the G700 stretches the G650s fuselage by an additional 10 feet, but also used a new wing and upgraded Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines to increase the aircraft’s top speed to Mach 0.935 993.3 km/h 617.2 mph).
Although the originally announced specifications for the aircraft called for a maximum range of 7,500nm, during the G700s flight test campaign Gulfstream’s continuous improvements to the aircraft meant that by the time the first aircraft was delivered to a customer, the maximum range had increased to 7,750nm.
Customer deliveries were due to begin in 2022, however a combination of Covid related supply chain issues and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) insisting on what Mark Burns, President, Gulfstream, would later describe as “… the most rigorous certification program in company history.”
Gulfstream announced on April 24, 2024 that it had delivered the fist two G700s to customers. As well as delivering an aircraft to the G700’s launch customer Qatar Executive, Gulfstream also delivered a G700 to a customer in New Zealand.
To date Gulfstream has delivered a total of 13 G700s to customers, including four aircraft to Qatar Executive, and one aircraft to the Government of Jordan. Gulfstream has also delivered two aircraft that are registered in San Marino.
