DC Aviation Al-Futtaim, a business aviation services provider, has received safety certification from the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) for its Fixed Base Operations (FBO) located at Dubai South.
The FBO obtained the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) Stage 3 certification as an acknowledgment of its safety management and positive safety culture.
DC Aviation Al-Futtaim is one of only two FBOs in the Middle East and among 27 organizations globally to attain this highest safety standard, according to the company.
“At DCAF, we are fully committed to providing the highest levels of safety standards and industry best practices. It is front and center for everything we do,” said Christopher Eden, Director of Ground Operations at DCAF.
DC Aviation Al-Futtaim received its Stage 1 certification in May 2019 and Stage 2 in January 2021.
IS-BAH certification has three stages: Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3. The Stage 3 registration is the highest level of safety standard established by IS-BAH. To achieve IS-BAH certification, an organization needs to complete six steps, which include purchasing an IS-BAH subscription, completing an external IS-BAH audit, and displaying the certificate in their facility.
DC Aviation Al-Futtaim is a joint venture between Al-Futtaim Group and Stuttgart-based DC Aviation GmbH. Celebrating its tenth anniversary since it began operations at Al Maktoum International Airport, also known as Dubai World Central (DWC) in 2013. The facility has continually grown over the past decade.
