THC (The Helicopter Company) has added six AW139s from Leonardo for missions including search and rescue (SAR), Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Corporate transport in Saudi Arabia.
The addition, announced at Heli-Expo 2023 in Atlanta, will bring the commercial helicopter operator’s total AW139 fleet to 49.
“We’re pleased with the level of confidence shown by a leading operator like THC in our technology and mission capabilities by this latest announcement of the fleet expansion plan,” said Gian Piero Cutillo, MD, Leonardo Helicopters.
There are currently nearly 1,300 AW139s operating in over 80 countries, and the Middle East has 170 units for a wide range of missions including corporate transport, emergency medical service, search and rescue, law enforcement, offshore transport, and government duties.
