Pratt & Whitney Canada will invest USD$10 million to expand its engine component repair facility in Wichita Falls, Texas.
This expansion project done by Pratt & Whitney Canada, a subsidiary of Pratt & Whitney, is expected to create 30 new job opportunities in the region.
As part of the investment, the company plans to enhance its existing coatings line to improve the durability and performance of its engines. The investment will also be utilized to establish a new production line using a recently developed coating technique.
The Wichita Falls component repair facility joined the Pratt & Whitney Canada family in 1997. The facility specializes in the repair of “hot” (combustion) sections of various Pratt & Whitney Canada engines.
Irene Makris, Vice President of Customer Service at Pratt & Whitney Canada, praised the Wichita Falls team. “We continue to invest and grow in Wichita Falls because of the strength of the local workforce, the support of the community, and the enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude of our Wichita Falls team and leadership,” Makris said.
The Mayor of Wichita Falls, Stephen Santellana, welcomed the expansion project as it will generate more employment opportunities for the city’s residents.
Construction for the facility expansion is scheduled to commence before mid-2023, with an anticipated completion date in early 2025.
Pratt & Whitney manufactures engines for business aviation and its PW800 engine was selected to power the Gulfstream G500 and G600 business jets in 2014.
