Pipistrel Appoints Absolute Aviation as African Distributor

Pipistrel, a Textron subsidiary, appointed Absolute Aviation as its aircraft distributor to expand its African sales network.

Absolute Aviation, a long-standing partner of Textron Aviation, will handle sales, service support, and training for Pipistrel’s range of ultralight, light sport, and type certified aircraft across the region.

Headquartered at Lanseria International Airport in South Africa, Absolute Aviation will be responsible for serving 11 countries in southern and central Africa, including Angola, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

The expansion follows Pipistrel’s recent expansion of its distribution network in key regions worldwide, including the appointment of Lincoln Park Aviation (LPA) and Lanier Flight Center as its distributors in the U.S.

Steve Mckenna, director of Sales and Marketing at Pipistrel, said, “We’re fully committed to building our network of distributors so that we can precisely meet the needs of our customers across Africa.” He also praised Absolute Aviation’s customer-centric approach and its established partnership with Textron Aviation.

Neil Howard, CEO of Absolute Aviation, highlighted the success achieved as a Textron Aviation channel partner and dedication to expanding Pipistrel’s presence in the rapidly growing African market.
