The Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre (HKBAC) has been named the “Best Asian FBO” in Professional Pilot Magazine’s 2023 PRASE Survey.
Overall, HKBAC scored ten points in the survey, which was enough to comfortably win the Asia category and put it above FBOs in other countries and regions including Canada, Latin America, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The company, marking its 25th anniversary in 2023, has now won the “Best Asian FBO” 16 times in a row. Its first win, in 2008, came a decade after its establishment and the opening of Hong Kong’s Chek Lap Kok Airport. Since then it has consistently been recognized for its private jet services as one of the most reliable and trusted FBOs in the region.
“The award is a fabulous gift to celebrate HKBAC’s 25th anniversary. It is rewarding to be recognized with full marks from voters, especially in such challenging times. This is a reflection of the team spirit, effort, and dedication at HKBAC, who always commit to ensuring smooth and safe operations for passengers and crew,” Madonna Fung, General Manager of HKBAC, told Asian Sky Group.
With one eye on the future, HKBAC kicked off a major expansion project in October 2022 to increase its capacity, by adding additional hangarage, as well as additional ramp and terminal space.
“The new HKBAC expansion is in progress and is scheduled to complete in tandem with Hong Kong International Airport’s three-runway system. This will enhance Hong Kong’s ability to provide world-class business aviation services underlining the city’s international aviation hub status,” Fung said, believing that the enhanced and upgraded facilities will help manage the emerging demands of business aviation, as business and leisure travel has gradually resumed in the city.
The Professional Pilot Magazine PRASE Survey is conducted every year. The survey is completed by a wide range of different aviation professionals which includes pilots, flight attendants, and dispatchers.
In the survey, Skyservice won the “Best Canadian FBO” with a score of 8.81, while Jetex won the “Best Middle East and African FBO” with a score of 9.50. Signature scored 8.57 and ranked the highest among all European FBOs.
