Quarterly Survey Respondent Breakdown

Q4 2024 Survey Highlights

  1. In Q4, optimism levels in the surveyed area increased to 79.5% from 77.2% from the previous quarter. However, Greater China, Southeast & Northeast Asia experienced a decline in economic optimism. Meanwhile, South Asia, the Middle East & North Africa saw an increase in optimism, whilst Oceania remained unchanged from the previous period.
  2. During Q4, 53.7% of respondents reported an increase in aircraft utilization, 28.0% saw no change, and only 18.3% saw a decrease.
  3. In Q4, 58.1% of respondents expressed their intention to purchase an aircraft in the next 12 months. Of these, 34.9% planned to buy a pre-owned aircraft, and 23.2% intended to purchase a new one. Large Jets were the most popular choice for fixed-wing aircraft, while twin-turbine helicopters were the preferred option for helicopters.
  4. 42.3% of respondents believed that the pre-owned aircraft market was relatively balanced, while 26.9% viewed it as a buyer’s market, and only 15.4% considered it as a seller’s market.
  5. 44.4% of respondents indicated their interest in chartering an aircraft within the next three months, which was no change from the previous quarter.

In Asian Sky Group’s Q4 2024 survey on the industry’s mood and intentions, we received more than 200 responses from business aviation professionals. The regions with the most respondents included:

  1. Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia (32.3%)
  2. Greater China, mainly covering mainland China and Hong Kong SAR (16.5%)
  3. Oceania (9.8%)
  4. South Asia (7.5%)
  5. Middle East and North Africa (3.8%)

49.3% of respondents were affiliated with the business jet sector, while 25.1% represented companies engaged in business turboprop operations, and 21.7% were involved in turbine helicopter activities.

In terms of company roles, 39.2% of respondents were part of aircraft operator companies, while the rest primarily came from aircraft sales/charter brokers (26.8%) and service providers (22.7%).
