Global Crossing Airlines Group, also known as GlobalX, has agreed to buy 50 all-electric Alice aircraft from Eviation.
GlobalX, the Miami-based charter and cargo flight provider, signed a letter of intent to buy the commuter aircraft, with the first deliveries expected in 2027.
Eviation, an electric aircraft developer based in Washington state, is preparing for the first test flight of its redesigned Alice aircraft before the end of this summer.
Compared with other traditional light jets, the fully electric Alice produces no carbon emissions and is quieter and cheaper to operate, says the company.
GlobalX is planning to fly between Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean using the Alice aircraft.
“Alice will enable GlobalX to introduce new, sustainable flight options for growing markets, including Miami, Orlando, and the Bahamas,” Eviation officials said.
