GAMA Reports Growing Second Quarter Business Jets Deliveries

The number of business jet deliveries climbed by nearly 10% along with an increase in the overall value of the aircraft shipments by more than 5% during the first six months of 2022, according to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA).

In its Second Quarter 2022 General Aviation Aircraft Shipment and Billing Report, GAMA says that the value of airplane deliveries has increased to $9.1 billion, up by 5.2% when compared to the same period in 2021.

Aircraft shipments through the second quarter saw piston airplanes increase 9.4% with 638 deliveries, turboprops by 11.8% with 247 deliveries, and business jets increase 9.5% with 289 deliveries.

“Demand for general aviation aircraft continues at a robust pace. Since the initial setbacks of the pandemic, we have seen some segments make strides with growing backlogs and high rates of operations while others are still diligently working to navigate the path to recovery,” said Pete Bunce, President and CEO, GAMA.

“Despite ongoing supply chain and workforce issues, our industry continues to make progress and strategically posture for the future, which is a true testament to our strength and durability,” he said.
