SkyDrive Partners with Suzuki to Launch Flying Cars

SkyDrive will be partnering with Suzuki Motor Corporation (Suzuki) to launch flying cars.

The two companies will focus on the development of business and technology, planning manufacturing and mass-production systems, as well as investing in overseas markets.

The collaboration aims to bring air taxi services in time for the 2025 World Exposition in Osaka, as well as to other parts of Japan.

Suzuki also has plans to add flying cars as a new mobility category, alongside its other mobility categories for automobiles, motorcycles, and outboard motors.

According to Asian Sky Media’s 2021 Asia-Pacific UAM Report, SkyDrive’s one-seater SD-03 prototype has a cruise speed of 40-50 km/h, and a flight time of 5-10 minutes. SkyDrive’s two-seater, the SD-XX, is still in its concept model stage and is projected to fly at 100 km/h for 20-30 minutes.

Previously, SkyDrive showcased its SD-03 model at CES 2022 in January.
