Transport Canada has certificated Pratt & Whitney Canada’s PW812GA engine.
The approvals form part of the certification push for the new Gulfstream G400, which was announced in October 2021.
“We worked closely with Transport Canada to create an efficient and thorough certification process that successfully led us to this point,” said Maria Della Posta, president, Pratt & Whitney Canada. “When it enters into service (EIS), the G400 will be the third Gulfstream aircraft to rely on our PW800 engine family.”
The PW812GA is part of the PW800 family of engines that also power Gulfstream’s G500 and G600, which entered service from 2018 and 2019 respectively.
The PW800 family offers double-digit improvements in fuel burn, emissions, maintenance intervals, and noise over previous generation engines.
