New Delhi Airport Opens Innagurates New Business Aviation Hangars

Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has inaugurated two new hangars for business and general aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) services. The hangars were built by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).

DIAL believes the existence of two new hangars will allow operators to lessen commute time, which results in lower carbon emissions.

With a combined space of more than 2,000 sq meters, the facility can accommodate six to eight mid-size aircraft.

The airport says that it receives between 36 – 38 business aviation movements per day.

“DIAL is the pioneer in building world-class airport infrastructure. The dedicated General Aviation facility – GA Terminal and aircraft parking bays – was the first of its kind in India. This facility has put India at par with some of the world’s best airports. Moving forward, we have developed dedicated MRO hangars with world-class facilities near the GA terminal, which also are the first in the country.” said Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO, DIAL.

“This facility not only benefits the aircraft operators but also helps Delhi Airport in achieving its environmental sustainability goals,” Jaipuriar added.
