Guanyi Aviation’s GA20 Completes First Airworthiness Flight

Guanyi Aviation’s new GA20 aircraft recently completed its first airworthiness test flight at Jiuzhou Airport in Guizhou

The GA20 is a single-engine, four-seat fixed-wing general aviation aircraft, which was launched in 2015. Designed by Jean-Paul Vaunois, former chief designer at Airbus, it is China’s first homegrown general aircraft developed by a private company.

The aircraft has a maximum range of 1,200 km, with a cruise speed of 265 km/h. Fuel consumption at 8,500ft with 75% power is just 32 liters per hour.

Founded in 2009 in Shanghai, China, Guangyi Aviation has provided products and technical services for ARJ21, C919, MA60/600, MA700, AG600, Z15 and other Chinese made aircraft. In 2020, the company announced that it would develop “GAX”, a 19-seat new energy hybrid passenger/cargo aircraft.
