On August 8, a Leonardo AW139 helicopter was used to test a new air route that could link Guangzhou and Shenzen in just 25 minutes.
The test flight was undertaken by Reignwood Aviation and Heli-Eastern.
Known as the Gunagzhou-Shenzhen intercity helicopter route, the test flight saw the helicopter depart from Futian, central Shenzhen, and land in central Guangzhou 25 minutes later.
It currently takes at least two hours to travel between the central areas of Gunagzhou and Shenzhen.
The opening of a regular Guangzhou-Shenzhen quick commuting “air corridor” route will not only meet the needs of business commuting, but play an important role in air rescue and medical transfer.
