Garmin Wins Award for Operational Excellence

Garmin Wins Award for Operational Excellence

Garmin has been awarded the 2022 Operational Excellence Award from Airbus Helicopters at its annual Supplier Conference in Marignane, France. It is the fourth award that Garmin has received from Airbus Helicopters.

The award recognizes the on-time delivery and quality of Garmin, as well as its “outstanding performance” amid a period of global supply chain challenges thanks to the company’s vertically integrated manufacturing model and agility in global operations.

Carl Wolf, Vice President of Aviation Sales and Marketing at Garmin said, “This prestigious award represents the strong collaboration between Airbus Helicopters and Garmin and is a testament to the hard work and dedication provided by the entire Garmin team.”

Airbus helicopter models that incorporate Garmin avionics as standard equipment include the H125, H130, H135, and H145.

The Garmin Aviation team won the 2018 North American Supplier of Excellence Award from Airbus Helicopters Canada and received consecutive On-Time Delivery awards from Airbus Helicopters in 2019 and 2020.

Garmin’s business model is based on “vertical integration.” All design, manufacturing, marketing, and warehouse processes are kept in-house, allowing the company to have more control over its products.

The award from Airbus Helicopters came a week after Garmin won numerous awards at Embraer’s Suppliers Conference, including the 2022 “Best of the Best” Supplier.
