Airbus Partners with Munich Airport to Develop AAM Worldwide

Airbus and Munich Airport International have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to continue developing Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) ecosystems globally.

The MoU was signed during the 2022 ILA Berlin Airshow, in Germany.

Airbus is working on its CityAirbus NextGen electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicle, whereas Munich Airport is offering its ground infrastructure services.

The parties aim to create an AAM ecosystem that can be safely combined with existing mobility structures. This will help bring value to cities and communities.

“The development of the market, industry and the ultimate service of AAM requires a holistic view and this has been our approach from the beginning. In addition to our decades of vehicle and technology development, certification, and support we are actively building working ecosystems with our partners,” says Balkiz Sarihan, Head of UAM Partnerships and Strategy Execution at Airbus.

Airbus previously partnered with MAGicALL to develop the motors for its eVTOL.
