Lilium signed a research and development collaboration agreement with lithium technology company Livent.
The partnership will focus on how lithium metal technology can be used in high-performance battery cells.
This is important in paving the way for Lilium’s access to batteries that can power its aircraft.
“This collaboration is a milestone in Lilium’s commitment to revolutionize regional air travel. Innovation is at the heart of our mission, and to keep innovating we need to collaborate with the best in the industry,” says Yves Yemsi, Chief Operating Officer at Lilium.
Together, both companies hope to realize the potential for battery technologies, as well as decarbonize air travel.
Lilium recently worked together with Aernnova to develop the propulsion mounting system for its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicle.
