CareFlite has agreed to purchase a Bell 407GXi helicopter. It has been outfitted with an IFR configuration kit.
The IFR kit allows the helicopter to operate in all weather conditions.
The company has a longstanding history with Bell – currently, two Bell 429 helicopters are in CareFlite’s Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) Fleet, and five Bell 407s are used for critical care transportation.
“Bell is proud to continue to support and provide the CareFlite team with ready and reliable aircraft,” says Lane Evans, Bell’s Managing Director of North America.
This ensures that CareFlite can continue to provide around-the-clock critical care to patients.
As a result of this transaction, CareFlite will become the first HAA operator to use Bell’s 407GXI IFR kit in Texas.
Bell was recently contracted by the Royal Canadian Air Force to upgrade its CH-146 Griffon helicopters.
